In Mobile, Ala., a woman was in the LifeWay store looking for tapes to help her baby sleep and for books on parenting difficult children.
The customer said she and her husband had recently adopted a troubled infant who was going through a tough time.
The sales associate located an appropriate book, but the customer couldn't afford both the book and the tapes. Later, when other sales associates heard the story, they pooled their money and bought the book and a card for the woman. It happened again in Orlando, Fla. A customer wrote to thank a sales associate for buying a seminary textbook for her until she could repay the loan. "I want you to know how much I really appreciate your generous, loving act," the customer wrote. "May God bless you as much as you have blessed me." Do you view yourself as "off duty" from the Lord's work when you leave your store?
Consider this. William Hampton, Lead Sales Associate/Music at the Huntsville AL store,
went shopping at a large discount store after work one day. Passing by the Bible section,
William couldn't help overhearing a customer ask one of the store's employees a question
about a children's Bible. Unable to get an adequate answer from that store employee, the
