This study taught me who I am in Jesus and what that means. I learned so much about myself and the heart of our Savior. This study literally changed my paryer life for the good and glory of the Father kingdom.

This book is from God to me I believe I was lead by the Holy Spirit to purchase it. I have fallen out of my communication with God as I once was as a new believer and I came across this book to help me get back into fervent prayer and I love the work book. I feel God leading me to get together with a group of different denominational women (born again believers) to pray together,not to push are differences on doctrine but to come together as a family of God and pray together for the body of Christs' unity and to show the lost that we as Christians can come together and show the world our love for them and Jesus.

I only took this class(about a year ago) because my husband was. He ended up having to drop the class and I stayed. I am glad I did. It has changed my life. I have started to grow in my walk with my Jesus. I will be teaching this class in a couple of weeks. This is my first time teaching an adult class but I am excited about it. I hope this class will touch someone else like it has me.

Feb 17 2002 12:52AM Excellent Book for Group Study on Prayer
We went through this very book on prayer for our Discipleship Training. We are blessed as a group, learning that prayer is not just as simple as asking for things. It is the constant fellowship with the Lord. We learned also how to adore and praise Him, thank Him, and confess to Him for our sins.

All the 13 weeks are good. The following weeks are especially good: Week 4, Using the Bible in Prayer; Week 8, Agreeing with God; Week 9, Applying the Principles of Asking; Week 10, Dealing with Hindrances and Delay; and Week 13, Establishing a Ministry of Prayer.

The 13 prayer guides and other materials at the back are also my favorites. Very usable summary of each week. As a teacher, I did not use the video tapes in the class, as we only meet for an hour each week, perhaps next time I will try using the tapes.

The workload from this book is quite heavy. Some memebers dropped out of the class because it took about 45 minutes or more a day for the study. 13 weeks of continual study might be daunting for somebody. Perhaps spliting the book into two is a not a bad idea.

Besides recommending this book for Discipleship Training group study, I also recommending this book to all followers of Christ who are determined to enhance their prayer lives.
