Nov 12 2004 1:23AM  An amazing story of overcoming tragedy and finding a new normal in life!
On the way home from a church conference a horrific head-on collision ended my life as I knew it. Because of the passionate prayers of others, I survived. Thirty-four surgeries and over a year in a hospital bed later, I found a new way to live my life. Thousands have found this book enormously beneficial in times of great tragedy, loss, and hopelessness. I hope you do, too. God can turn our messes in messages.

Apr 10 2008 6:45PM  WoW got me through a hard period in my life..............
My sister sent me this book as I was coming home from the rehab hospital. I came down with NF (flesh eating bacteria) and woke up 3 weeks later only to be told I almost died, I've been in a coma for over 3 weeks, and honey you lost your leg. So this book validated my belief in GOD and how blessed we are to be here. Thank you so much for writing this book. GOD BLESS you always. In Christ

Apr 3 2008 7:42AM  a wonderful look at heaven
i bought this book to take with me on vacation this past march and once i started reading it, could not put it down. if you were not a believer, you will be be after reading this book and if you were before, it will strenthen your faith. i loved it. i lost my husband and only child to death many years ago and this book reinforces my belief that i will see them in eternity. i highly recommend to everyone to read this powerful book.

Feb 19 2008 7:00PM  One great and inspirational story.
This is a book that is very hard to put down once you start it. Don's story is so interesting that you just have to keep going. After all, who has seen heaven? Don has. If you are skeptical, just read a few pages and see if your attitude changes! It is the best book that I've read in a long time.

May 20 2007 8:37PM  Exciting and Encouraging.
I liked the book because he described it so vividly. I didn't get the impression that he was actually in Heaven. He alludes to the peace and knowing people around him. He also sees the gate, but doesn't go in. I also liked the detail he gave about his recovery. In my opinion, the book was uplifting and hope giving. Don Piper references the blind man that Jesus healed. The blind man was questioned by so many authoritative men of the time. He finally says - He doesn't know much about Jesus, but he does know he was blind and now he can see. I hope that people will read this book for encouragement and hopefulness. I certainly enjoyed it.

Dec 23 2006 12:35AM  Poor, emotion-driven account
There are two main points with this book. First, Piper admits that he never saw Jesus. Yet he continues to describe this "heaven" as perfect. If he never saw Jesus, isn't his heaven incomplete. Secondly, he says that there are no songs about Jesus' death or sacrifice (p.31). We know from Revelation 5:9 that there will definitely be songs about Jesus' death. We also know that he promised to share the Lord's Supper with us in the New Kingdom. This book leaves a lot to be desired and is, at some times, down-right heretical!

Aug 9 2006 8:42PM  GREAT
I enjoyed the honesty, the love, the concern.
I was in a car accident in Dec.2005, I was imobilized for five months. I could relate with being bedridden and all the negative thoughts that try to cloud the mind.
GOD has me learning to walk now, and I continue to give the problem to HIM and allow HIS love and healing powers to heal me.Without GOD leading the way I could not be doing what I am doing today.I give GOD all the PRAISE!!!!!!!
