Aug 2 2009 12:41PM  Will appeal to the secular world as well as the Christian
Pros: The 3 or 4 last chapters of the book have some real God centerd Biblical based comments and advice-some of it really very good; such as figuring out why your life is not aligned with God's will and what can one do to get it right. It also encourages the reader to make sure they are spending time in the Word and if not ,to be sure to do so. There are other similar types of comments and advice which are good reminders of basic Christian life.

Cons: This book is sort of a "Purpose Driven Life" rehashed. In this book, most advice centers on man's own devices not God centered ones. One may experience change from reading this book but it is unlikely to be everlasting change. While musch scripture is quoted in this book it seems that the text is not written to support the scripture but seems rather to be added in just to make sure that the advice seems biblical.

One particular analagy that the authors use is to compare Christ on the cross to a game of golf and we are to nail our scorecard to the cross. What a low view of the holiness of God and our Saviour! Why don't the authors use the words "propitiation" and "justification?" The vocabulary of the book is very "low" when it describes basic Christian theology.

This book will appeal to some Christians as well as non Christians. Therein lies the problem- if the secular world gives its approval then doesn't that say that we are no different?

A major red flag- this book is endorsed by several "pastors" who have real difficulty in calling sin "sin." Their endorsement is really what caused me to purchase and read this book. It worried me that if this book was attractive to them, then perhaps it was not a book that should be recommended to others.

Feb 9 2008 6:55PM  This book is life-changing and full of exciting stories and quotes
The principles in One Month to Live are life-changing. The question "What would I do if I had one month to live" is though-provoking and a little scary. It helped me to zero in on the things I'd really like to do, and put aside my excuses for not doing them now, rather than waiting for "someday".

The format, a 30-day challenge where every chapter represents a day in the challenge, is easy to read and follow, plus the book includes "Make it Last a Lifetime" exercises that are helping me to take action on the things I'm reading about.

Because of the book, I've started doing things that are going to make a real difference in my life, my family's life, and my community. I can't think of a better way to spend my time.
