A Must Read for all Christians
This book is a "must read" for any serious Christian who wants to know the true origin of their faith and who desire to be well grounded in why they believe what they believe.
As a fellow Messianic Jew I have been quite amazed at the level of total ignorance by most "gentile" Christians as to the Jewishness of belief in Jesus Christ and how He is the fulfillment of all the Messianic prophecies. I expect this ignorance from my fellow non believing Jews for most of them are ignorant of what the Torah and Old Testament reaches but there is no excuse for those claiming to be Christian. I have observed that nowadays, most everyday Christians know very little or don't believe at all the essentials of their own faith (such as the virgin birth, the trinity, the physical resurrection, salvation through faith alone, etc.); let alone Bible prophecy which comprises almost 2/3's of the Bible text and has always pointed exclusively to Yeshua (Jesus) as Messiah.
With warmth, humor and an easy way with words, Sheryl describes in very easy to understand terms the Jewishness of the Christian faith (or "The Way" as it was originally termed), the significance of the Jewish feast days ordained by God and how they were (and still shall be) fulfilled by Jesus and what they mean.
She has done a very thorough job in researching and showcasing all the history, culture and religious aspects which make up today's Jewish people and her book would serve as an excellent "primer" for both mature and young believers alike. With all the increased rise of anti-antisemitism in the world, this book should be required reading in all the churches!

It was interesting and informative
The book was well written, giving information not generally known to most Christians. Coming away from it with a better understanding of the Jewish faith, I'm more aware of how important it is that Christians and Jewish people communicate with one another to learn in what areas we agree, especially in service to others and our belief in the Old Testament. It also showed how it's relavent to discover the barriers between us and overcome them. For instance, according to the book, some Jewish people, who are painfully aware that Germany was a Christian nation during the Holocaust, have no way of knowing that other Christians are any different from those who wanted to destroy them. Facts in the book such as this one point out the relevance of discussion between the two faiths.

This is a relevant and important book!
This book truly is what every Christian should know about Jewish people. It is thorough, packed with information about Jewish history and traditions, and clears up the misunderstandings that have pervaded the relationship between two groups of people who should be working to understand and love each other.
We as Christians need to open our hearts and minds to Jewish people, and learn about their history because it is directly related to our history and faith. This book gives us the knowledge and tools to do just that--because the author is both Jewish AND Christian herself.
I enjoyed every moment of reading this book. I finished reading it feeling as though I had really, really learned!

This book is long overdue!
As Christians, it's imperative that we know how to teach the Gospel to gentiles and Jewish people alike. Knowing a bit about the Jewish culture keeps us from stepping on delicate toes. As a Jewish lady married to a Baptist preacher, Sheryl Young has the credibility and authority to speak on this issue.
"What Every Christian Should Know About the Jewish People" is a must-read book!
And keep an eye on author Sheryl Young. Several publishers are interested in her other work, too.
