Esther: It's Tough Being a Woman - Leader Kit by Beth Moore helps a leader facilitate this women's Bible study experience and contains all that is needed to conduct the 9 weeks of small group time. Join Beth in a very personal examination of the Old Testament story of Esther as she peels back the layers of history and shows how very contemporary and applicable the story is to our lives today. If you've ever felt inadequate, threatened, or pushed into situations that seemed overpowering, this is the Bible study for you. Just as it was tough being a woman in Esther's day, it's tough today. This portion of God's Word contains treasures to aid us in our hurried, harried, and pressured lives.

Jul 18 2010 5:16PMGreat study of how to subjugate your interests to those of God's chosen gender.
Very simple to understand and didn't require a lot of heavy thinking.

Jun 21 2010 11:08AMSpiritually challenging
This was my first Beth Moore Bible study. God used it mightily in my life. For those of us who have been wounded, and seemingly abandoned as unfit for God's service, Esther gives us a vision of His love and care that I so desperately needed. Answering the personal questions helps us evaluate our lives honestly, and keep us vulnerable to the Holy Spirit's woprk in our lives. Thank you Lord, and thank you Beth for prodding places that need your work.

Jun 13 2010 1:25AMI was somewhat disappointed with this bible study in comparison to others.
I found the dvds to be very long without much substance. While there are many "aha" moments and moments where she seems to bring out something that me or others in our group are struggling with, it seems that she takes a long time to make her point. There is also what I would call a lot of "silliness" that is not in her other dvds. It seems to lack the depth and maturity of studies such as "The Patriarchs", "A Woman's Heart", or "Daniel". There is some great material encased within, it just takes a long time to get to it.

May 11 2010 3:20PMLoved it, although it drug out a little longer than necessary.
Great opportunity to concentrate on a book I've never heard referenced in a sermon. I love Beth's entertaning delivery. The only negatives are that she sometimes gets off subject and starts preaching...not the place for a sermon! Also, there are too many personal questions in the study workbook which are not relevant to the academic study I prefer of books of the Bible. I usually skip almost 100% of those. I hope she will do other books!

Mar 27 2010 6:29PMToo much fluff. Not enough meat.
I have facilitated a number of Beth's studies and have found them all to be inspiring and life-changing. Until Esther... Unlike other studies I have done, this one was lacking in spiritual depth. Since I was facilitating, I was committed for the long haul, but had difficulty getting through most of the weeks. ...And the videos were way too long! But praise God--the last two weeks were wonderful!

Feb 27 2010 2:33PMHaman's Ears recipe seems wrong
I tried making the Haman's Ears recipe in the back of the book. I noticed that vanilla wasn't listed in the instructions, so I added it with the eggs. I chilled the dough for only 1 hour (due to time schedule), and it was so hard and dry, I wouldn't have been able to roll it out easily. I also noticed that I forgot to put in the baking powder because, again, it was not listed in the assembly instructions. I'm wondering if anyone else tried this recipe and if it was successful.
